YoungCons on Fox & Friends
Mission Statement: The political, economic and international threats that face this nation are unprecedented in many respects. And yet, according to the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, only 22.8% of all eligible young people ages 18-29 voted in the 2010 mid-term elections. When more of our young people are voting for their next American Idol rather than their next American legislator, we have a serious problem. Our generation will, one way or another, make decisions that will directly affect a rapidly aging and needy population and an exploding unsustainable national debt.
We feel the moral obligation to intervene and help steer the country away from the false promises of President Obama and save this country from certain implosion. The question of how the federal government provides a safety net for the disadvantaged who are unable to help themselves, while at the same time, encourage entrepreneurship and individual responsibility must be answered. Is the American experience truly “exceptional” or are we an imperialist culture characterized by decadence, slothfulness and apathy? Our generation, and those to come, will look back at this time as a pivotal point in American history. How will we respond? The Young Cons, founded by Joshua Riddle and David Rufful, have chosen to respond by helping as many conservative voices and projects reach their maximum potential and outreach as possible.

YoungCons on Wilkow, The Blaze
As Winston Churchill famously implored: “Study history, study history. In history lies all the secrets of statecraft.” History has provided mankind with numerous examples of past civilizations that have produced enormous new wealth, and in doing so, steadily raised the standard of living for common citizens. The Egyptians, the Macedonians, the Romans and the Persians (to name but a few) all built cultures and political systems that bettered their citizenry and changed the world. All have passed away. Is the United States destined to follow the same arc of history, or can the virtues and safeguards envisioned by our founders protect us from inevitable decline? There are common characteristics that have enabled wealthy nations to blossom and uncontrollable government spending, an unsustainable national debt are not among them.
The state of affairs in the United States is abandoning our bedrock principles, and instead, embracing the comfortable but deceptive ideals of moral relativism, victim identification, and outcome equivalence. The political nature of mankind and the ramifications of governmental policy will directly shape the freedom and liberty of American citizens. The majority of this country is desperately yearning for leaders to emerge that are able to passionately communicate their ideas in an intelligent, comprehensive and engrossing manner.
Unless we take a stand to demand that steps are taken to secure our future, we will be the last generation to experience the truly exceptional and unique American experience. The Declaration of Independence promises the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The Obama administration and voters have placed an obstacle in our path that impedes future protection of these unalienable rights, but it is our duty as defenders of freedom and the constitutional republic to advocate a government of less federal spending to avoid a certain doomsday. Every generation has their battle, and defending this Constitutional Republic and uplifting the poor and middle-class by creating a land of freedom exposing obese federal spending as the fickle beast that it is will be ours. This problem is real, and the fight for freedom has begun, what are you doing about it?
